"The Call" (Yes, I found the camera cord)

I think that God has a sense of humor, I really do. Our "Call" came on a Sunday evening - I had been out grocery shopping, and had then been on the phone for a while with Verizon about a problem with my cell phone. Steve was out mowing the grass - it could not have been a less exciting evening around here. Oh, by the way, our house is completely torn up for our living room/dining room remodel, and looks like our house was ransacked.
The phone rang, and I saw that it said private caller - and for some reason I picked it up. Laura, our social worker, was calling! She asked if Steve was there, because she had something to discuss with us! I almost passed out!
Larua then told us about the sweetest little boy in all of Korea - born December 6, 2009. He had a rough start to life, very rough. We called good friends of ours for some medical advice, and to ask them to pray for Steve and I. Steve and I took some time to pray, and we decided that we wanted to meet with Laura to review his file, but did not see his pictures that night. We made plans to meet with Laura the next night at Panera.

Remarkably, we did get some sleep that night. I had a reoccuring dream several times that we met Laura, and that our babe had a white onesie with blue bears on it. Yeah. That was hours before we saw the pictures. (Steve and my friend G can attest to this!)
While waiting for Laura, we had dinner. I think I had some potato soup. (Yes, I decided to forgo the no carbs for food that would actually stay in my stomach) I ate, Steve ate, I almost passed out several times, Steve stayed calm. Laura walked it and I started crying. She handed us the packet, and we took out the pictures and information. And we cried and cried... here is the picture of the first time we saw our son's sweet face......(Please note - I am not one of those women who can cry gracefully. I am a mess!)

Our first Look! The picture we shared in our referral post was the one on top. I just about lost it. It only took a moment for us to realize that the sweet little one was in fact in a white onsie with a blue bear on it. I will never forget that moment. In that moment, I knew I was looking at my son.
Here were are a few minutes later - reading over our referral paperwork.
I will share the post about telling our families later this week.

(And for the record - the camera cord was in the basket in the kitchen we use to store the electronic device cords. Ahm. )
